Deli G Influences – Glenn Underground

Internationally respected DJ, Deli G is best known for his longstanding ‘The Touch’ mix show on Bristol’s Galaxy FM then Vibe FM and now on BCFM, as well as being hugely influential in the city’s clubbing and house music evolution. From playing parties with the infamous Wild Bunch Crew’ (later known as ‘Massive Attack’) to sessions at the Players Night Club in Bath alongside D.J Lynx from Smith & Mighty, Deli is part of the city’s clubland fabric. He’s guested on BBC Radio 1 for Danny Rampling, and picked up 2 awards for Best Overseas Radio Show, including one at Miami’s Winter Music Conference and a second at the Billboard Summit in New York. Deli G is a Resident DJ for Househead LDN and also guests regularly on Lee Coffey’s Friday afternoon 4-6pm show on House FM. For our DMCWorld Influences series, we asked Deli G to share with us his most inspirational Glenn Underground productions.

Founding member of Chicago’s Strictly Jaz Unit, Glenn Underground was inspired by Chicago’s original pioneers, Larry Heard, Ron Hardy, Lil’ Louis and so forth and has produced some of the most well respected deep house music of the past three decades. His releases for Cajual, Prescription, Guidance and Peacefrog have set the standard for sophisticated dance music. One of the few DJs who can walk the line between deep house, afro house, jazz house, disco-influenced house, techno house and the kind of classics featured at the legendary parties of late 70’s Chicago..

Wonderful piece of music with a wicked piano solo and stacks of other intense elements that makes this release an underground dance floor classic and taken from his “A Story Of Deepness” album.
