Ibiza 2010
Swedish House Mafia ‘The Masquerade Motel’ – Pacha

There’s something about going to Pacha that makes it standout from the rest of Ibiza finest nightlife, ok so it doesn’t have the capacity of Privilege or the ice cannons of Amnesia but it’s all about style and grace with Pacha.
Making a grand entrance like a wannabe celebrity we enter into the candle lit arena of the main room to be greeted by a abstract stage on the dance floor? A double take later and the blazing neon sign’s KYLIE explain it all, yes our night of passion with the Swedish House Mafia boys and Alex Metric we’re about to be upgraded to fantasy time with the idea of a special visit from the beautiful princess.
We steady our nerves and hit the roof terrace for a swift cocktail before diving headlong into the very busy dance floor for a great battering from Alex Metric who’s divine productions and remixes we’re lifting the floor ever higher to the ceiling with every beat of his body, it was a joy to catch Alex in the DJ booth working the crowd and lovin it when dropping his special  remix of Gorillaz ‘Stylo’.
At this point we made a tactical retreat for more drinks as the club was ridiculously packed by this point and at sometime near 4am Kylie took to the stage to the screams of delight from the packed mass on the floor, what followed was an amazing up close show for the very lucky Pacha crowd who couldn’t believe what they was taking in that night, a very personal performance followed with classic Kylie anthems and a selection of new tracks from the latest album which was launched in Ibiza earlier in the day. We now witness the SHM crew going crazy in the booth as Kylie goes into ‘Cupid Boy’ which Sebastian Ingrosso wrote for the album and mayhem took over before like a magical dream Kylie and her team of dancers disappeared into the night leaving the crowd in a right old state.
Now how the hell do you follow on from that! Well this is what we came here for, the stars of the show we’re ready to play the set of their life, Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso launch into a 2 hour show that I will never ever forget, such an amazing show of music kept firing across out hit after hit from these music machines all beautifully put together in a non-stop mixshow that was unbelievable, the boys twisted the music to the limits pushing every big riff and accapella through the grinder to perfection. I lost count of all the tracks in the show and that is what it was, not a dj set but a grand opera of dance music that left me with tears in my eyes and bruises covering my body.
Next thing I know it’s over and I’m face down outside waiting to get a cab home with the biggest grin on my face ever, will I wake up and it’s all been a dream, I think I might have to come back next week to double check.
