Kanye West To Headline Hyde Park…

Wireless festival 2009

Wireless 2009 announce KANYE WEST as the headline act for Sunday 5th July in Hyde Park. Arguably the biggest, most sensational hip-hop superstar in the world, this is his only UK for 2009.  Since his first album release in 2004 (‘The College Dropout’), Kanye West has been cited as one of the most original and influential stars in the hip-hop scene.  He has produced and written with a wide range of musicians including Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Alicia Keys, Ludacris, Estelle (with whom he had a number one hit in the UK last year), Jamie Foxx and has just finished producing the new album for UK artist Mr Hudson. Earlier this year he picked up a Brit Award for Best International Male following the release of his forth album ‘808’s & Heartbreak’, and his sold out shows at the O2 in London and around the UK received illustrious reviews. A catalogue of hits including ‘Gold Digger’ ‘Through The Wire’, ‘Stronger’ ‘Diamonds From Sierra Leone’ and ‘Heartless’ will make this show undoubtedly one of the finest performances seen in Hyde Park and a full supporting bill will be announced soon.  After 2008’s spectacular performance by Jay Z, Kanye West is set to establish Hip-Hop’s place in Hyde Park.

Basement Jaxx return as headliners for the festival on Saturday 4th July. The band played at the first event in 2005 and organisers are thrilled at their return for what will certainly be the biggest party in London. A stunning supporting bill of Dizzee Rascal, The Streets, Paul Oakenfold and many more have already been confirmed with lots of acts still to be announced.

In addition to four stages of the best music, the biggest names and the hippest newcomers, Wireless 2009 will welcome back all the extra attractions which have become synonymous with the event. Expect a huge variety of food stalls, beer gardens and fun games. Hyde Park is in the very heart of London and accessing the festival is easy with a variety of tube lines and bus routes available to get you to the centre of the action without driving.
