You will probably be familiar with the Love Fever Records label if you are a sou head. They have churned out some of the biggest releases from the biggest artists of recent years, including Bicep and Citizen and John Daley. Now it is Absolute who steps up with three fresh bangers that come with two remixes from William Djoko. Opener Mind Control is a druggy house cut that hypnotises you with weird vocal loops. The drums are rubbery and slippery and burrow deep into your mind. As it unfolds it gets more weird and wonderful and then a dub version is also supplied in case you like it more physical and stripped back. Acid 8 is then the other original offering and is six textured and perfectly imperfect minutes of banging house with solid kicks and prickly percussion all cut through by rasping synths. It is then William Djoko who steps up with two mixes of Mind Control. The first is heady and spangled with burrowing synths getting deep into your brain, then the second is more wild and freaky and occult with mind melting sound designs all tripping you out.
