Love & Life’ Album

In case you thought Bargrooves was all about lush vocal house music, then think again. Andy Caldwell does at times touch on that, but spends much of his time exploring deeper, electro-based material. The darker first mix is brilliantly executed, with Will Saul’s ‘Pause’, the D Ramirez remix of Future Funk Squad’s ‘Audio Damage and the big riff of ‘Strung Out’ from Scope, a peak time moment to wrap things up. CD2 is deep and soulful, with Dennis Ferrer’s brooding ‘Underground Is My Home’ and remixes from Caldwell himself, of Cloud’s ‘Turning’ and Groove Junkies’ ‘I Believe In Dreams’. Bargrooves’ best for a long time.
