After whacking a few groins with his ‘Dance With Your Eyes Closed’ EP, UK tech-vet Dlay puts on the brakes and explores more downtempo fields on his second album. The opening ‘Deeply Involved’ awakens the proceedings with melancholy keys and jazz textures lacing subtle breaks before ‘Take Another Look’ starts as a muted squelcher before going quite gorgeous in its textures. Jazz seems to be a major influence, especially in touches like the walking bass of erm, ‘Walkin” and even the golden age of triphop is recalled on ‘2nd Movement’. One of those albums you can stick on any time, even the afternoon when washing dishes or giving the goat a blow-job.
