Watching how the funk moved from well before 1990, Dooley assembles a watershed collection showing off a passionately trained ear, homing in on digging out 30-odd vintage beauties, relics through to recognised, from the 60s & 70s. His keenness, following his escape from a psycho-hose-beast love interest, filters through to his mixing at times getting excitedly off-beat and his swift reloads marking an obvious tension to shoehorn in all his favourites. It may slip under the radar but this is a very necessary exercise in hepcat thighslapping – give the Dooley some.
