Late Night Tales once again surpass themselves with the release of this timely selection of music from Jon Hopkins that refreshingly sits outside of any particular classification, simply existing as excellent. Touching upon various bases from the dark, brooding technology of Darkstar’s ‘Hold Me Down’ to his own cover of Yeasayer ‘I Remember’ the selection is both life-affirming and reinforcing. Reaching the occasional peak care off Letherette’s bouncy ‘After Dawn’ but also reclining into the music of Four Tet and David Holmes excellent ‘Hey Maggy’ the first-rate track list inevitably ends with suitably spoken words from Rick Holland over new Jon Hopkins composition ‘I Remember’.
