The man behind a thousand sounds whose invaluable contribution to the launch of not only TK Records but also numbers of others may now be best remembered for KC & The Sunshine Band, but not to miss a trick this essential compilation is here to further remind us of some of his finest 45’s. It’s well worth checking out this man’s amazing history, indeed the award winning documentary: The record man is set to tie in with this release too. The music is sunshine-charged and as funky and diverse as the list of artists included testify. Serving up hot Soul is the likes of Lynn Williams, ‘It Takes Two’ while T-Connection’s fiery Disco classic ‘Do What You Wanna Do’ highlights the other end of the spectrum. There’s something magical about the timeless energy of the selection and you would be hard pressed to find a more rewarding playlist for the summer sun.
