This is a very fine pair of mixes, another high quality addition to what is already a pretty essential trance music series. Gai Barone starts with a finely mixed largely instrumental set that reaches a euphoric peak around half way through with Mark Found’s ‘Stellar Spectrum’ before the cool sounds of his own ‘Blank Pages’ take hold and set the tone for the rest of the mix. Solarstone is if anything even better, bolstered by his remixes of Röyksopp (‘I Had This Thing’), Aly & Fila with Aruna (‘The Other Shore’) and Sneijder & Giuseppe Ottaviani (‘Nero’). Both mixes duck and dive melodically, conceived as though the DJ envisages everything as just one track rather than a collection of individual pieces. The approach works handsomely, and the more you listen to this fourth release in the series the more you realise just how well it’s put together. Essential for trance fans.
