When you see the word Balearic appear you can generally guess what time of year it is as some peoples thoughts inevitably turn towards islands in the sun. And what’s also welcome about this excellent selection of music by FETE is just how contemporary and rich the music feels. Thankfully, in this case that sounds just like The XX, Smith and Mudd, Phil Mison’s Cantoma and Animal Collective amongst many more significant others. Future Balearica amounts in total to an exquisite and generally horizontal listening experience best savoured with a sunny disposition.
