Late Night Tales: Trentemoller
Late Night Tales

When ‘Another Late Night’ started out with Fila Brazillia in 2001, they found themselves at the start of a series that has come to represent the definitive after hours music experience – coming home from a night out to either carry on the party or come down with ease. The series has now reached its 25th instalment, and Trentemøller takes up the reigns with a set that manages to combine both elements, shot through with dark textures and gothic vocals. To assist him in his aim he has roped in an impressive legion of performers, drawing on the wonderfully familiar (The Velvet Underground’s ‘Venus In Furs’) and some gems from the back of the record box that include his own remix of Chimes & Bells’ ‘The Mole’, This Mortal Coil’s ‘Waves Become Wings’ and M.Ward’s ‘Poor Boy, Minor Key’. Perhaps not the most uplifting of the series yet, but a darkly coloured treat nonetheless – music’s equivalent of Bournville, if you like.
