Cristoph ‘Make Out/Prisoner’ (WARUNG)

Having played the famous Brazil club Warung recently, Geordie artist Cristoph now appears on the in-house label with a fine new two track EP entitled Make-Out.
Cristoph has had some big tracks on labels like Knee Deep In Sound, Defected and VIVa, where he also recently released an album. He has an emotive, moody tech house sound that is filled with killer grooves and now that is on display once more in this latest offering.
First up is Make Out, seven scintillating minutes of deeply rooted house drums rippled with trance-including and trippy melodies up top. It is a smooth and serene cut and one to get the whole floor locked in. On the flip, Prisoner is a darker and more driving cut, with tortured bass and shadowy atmospheres all working to get you on your toes. It’s a well produced, masterfully balanced affair that really will stand out in any set.
