Many have attempted to follow in the footsteps of Prince, often without much success, but for some reason Tom Gandey aka Cagedbaby pulls it off gracefully in ’16 Lovers’. Combining eighties slick and rocky funk with distinctive British male vocals (his), the Brighton based artist offers an exciting european answer to the Purple genius. Radio Slave and (Georges) Issakidis get drafted in to provide the weird mixes but who needs them when you’ve got such a strong song?
