Where do they find them?! First José González and now Little Dragon –
Peacefrog’s Gothenburg faction of songwriters is growing. Little Dragon are
fronted by Yukimi Nagano of Koop fame, with three of her high school friends
supporting. Little Dragon are capable of moving from the softly chimed piano
of opening track ‘Twice’ through to the off the wall pop of
‘Recommendation’, with occasional and unexpected hints at the soulful
intimacy of Erykah Badu from Nagano. In pop mode the quartet are
irresistible, and a little weird – but this ensures the record stands up
better than most to repeated listening. A late summer treat.
