The Sheffield imprint uses some highly esoteric phrases in its blurb. Whether or not this EP ‘deepens into a coastal shelf of the mind’ or not I don’t know but the opening title track is sheer grunge, a Satanic death-rumble which comes on like Throbbing Gristle meets SonicYouth, topped with some bloke going ‘Phwoar’. The System 23 treatment hoists it up into 145bpm hard techno mode. ‘Who Is In Control’ goes 303-driven acid house, taking a break halfway for a lengthy announcement by a revolutionary robot. ‘Kooky Trax 2’ is clattering, growling analogue funk. All told, a serious spanner thrown up the innocent machine’s tradesman’s entrance.
