Kiki has been impressing lately both with mix albums and his own ventures which are recognisable by their deep and crowd-stoking style. ‘Joko Tai’ gets under way quite contentedly with a simple but funky groove which is joined by sighing strings and Doorsy guitar. A feeling of what can only be described as pure joy builds throughout with a deadly piano riff planting a technicolour cherry on top. The flip’s ‘Gute Nacht’ was inspired by playing Madrid’s Goa Club – obviously a top night as a dark rumble swells and rattles into another contagious bottom-annihilator. The man can do no wrong.
