Back in 1987 an unknown German act named Off released a track called ‘Electric Salsa’ – the proto-techno groove and insanely catchy vocal (by the as yet unknown Sven Vath) was also written by the men who would later shape the career of Snap! It quickly became a pan-European hit, registering years later in the UK as the burgeoning acid house generation embraced it. Fast forward to present day and it returns as a cover and the new architects behind the rebuild are Italians, Armando Maggiorana and Stefano Silvestri (the latter of Phunk Investigation fame). The timing couldn’t be better, and with a plethora of mixes to suit all occasions, this sleeper should awake once more.
