Trainspotting with Kramnik

Big tunes form the big hitters…

01. The Echologist ‘Hustle’

I like to start my ‘Invisible Radio Show’ with deep and slow tracks, usually around the 123-124 range, and this one is perfect because it has a deep sound but with a tribal feeling to it. A great warm-up track indeed.

02. Paul Bart ‘Space Romance’
Also a slow and very chilly track, but a great warmer as well. I think this song has a very good balance of things which are not always easy to combine. Paul is a very talented artist from Italy that’s part of ‘DropIt’ (Vol 1), which is a new series of demos sent to the Kram Records Dropbox in Soundcloud.

03. Martinez Mesteno ‘One Brother Under The Water’  Frankee Dub Remix
I guess this track should go faster than the speed it has in the mix, because at some point it becomes incredibly up lifting. Very tech-house and also great for getting things started. I love the synth in this song.

04. Oliver Gross ‘Piano Distric’
I just love the lyrics in this track, and I find it very uplifting as well. I think it could blend very well with One Brother and it’s a perfect example of the type of track that attracts people to the dancefloor. Oliver is a very talented artist from Germany and also part of the new ‘DropIt’ series at Kram Records.

05.  Kramnik  ‘Overtone’
This is also the third track in my ‘Dark Matters’ album (which can be heard here: www.kramnik.dj/music). It has a tribal feeling but with a little darkness in it, which I always like. I especially like the crispy sound of the slow melody.

06. Buru ‘Blurring’
As the head track on the ‘DropIt’ Vol 1 EP, I just have to mention this wickedly hypnotic song. It’s a good example of good progressive and flows beautifully along the way. I love the voices and the percussive elements in here. Buru is a new artist from Finland and, definitely, one to keep an eye on.

07. Camea ‘Voiding The Fill’
Very dark indeed, but also very clean and very minimal. I absolutely love this track, because it flows very smoothly and with lots of sophistication. I look forward to making an entire ‘Invisible Radio Show’ along these lines.

08. Hernan Cattaneo & Martín García ‘Viclone’  Kramnik Remix
Probably one of my favourite album remixes. There’s something about this track that seems very convincing to me. But I also have to mention the great job by the other remixers, such as Ben Sims, Gabriel Ananda, Nick Warren, Timo Maas or Hans Bouffmyhre.

09. Walter Ercolino & Lucy ‘So The Nothing Grows Stonger’ Dadub Remix
This is what I consider is a transitional track, and I use these types of tracks to move between styles or genres within a mix, and this one works very well in that category. Lucy is a great artist with a great dark style, but this track is a bit mellower.

10. Elon ‘Blueprint’
This is a type of sound I want to investigate myself in future productions. And Elon is, of course, extremely good at it. Dark and minimal. I really like the beat variations in here.
