I guess it must that time of year again. But in the meantime if you don’t feel the need to hit the Miami hotspot then this selection will more than suffice – despite missing the sun and sea from the equation. The three CD set starts with Andrea Oliva’s cool blend of tough yet funky House that probes at the essence of the music and doesn’t come much better than the Konstantin Sibold remix of Jazzanova’s ‘I Can See’ for openers. The playlist then eases between the likes of Shlomi Aber and the hypnotic rhythms of the Dixon remix of ‘Level 7’ by Mathew Jonson to give you an indication of the breadth and depth involved. Paolo Rocco comes next and steps it up a gear with Soulphiction’s excellent ‘When Radio Was Boss’ and his own killer production, ‘Your Moment’ while ending suitably on Mr. G’s sumptuous down-tempo ‘Stolen Moments’. It’s a brilliant mix of music and my favourite of the three CD’s for diversity and intensity. NiCe7 conclude proceedings with a yet more fiery interpretation featuring Maurice’s Acid gem ‘This Is Acid’ in amongst great tracks from Andre Lodemann and Patrick Topping completing 2014 accompanied by the imagination of sunshine.
