The Loungin’ Kollective
Riddim Come 4ward
Loungin’

This is hilarious. Early 90s hardcore-you-know-the-score rave has joined
musical nostalgic strains like 50s rock ‘n’ roll, glam rock and disco as old
campaigners sit around reminiscing about Fantazia while seeing if that old
whistle still has any puff in it. Same goes even for techno, which means the
music of the future has become something to cherish from the past [before
regurgitating it endlessly with different names]. The rave sound is so
strong and of its time that the tributes are bound to increase, with
culprits have a jolly good wheeze in the process. Never mind these nu-rave
outfits who just sound shouty and tinny, let this floating gaggle of caners,
including Trevor Loveys and Chris Belsey [aka Little Bo Tweak], get together
after hours and toss around those old metallic keyboard riffs, turbo-breaks
and sonic boom bass blasts for a whooping wobble down memory lane. There’s
even a klaxon! When Josh Harvey heard it, the memories came flooding back
and he whipped up an even more extreme picture of 5AM on a podium off the
cake indeed making some noise. [Cue string of MC clichés].
