2. Danism & Rae – Gimme Love (Original Mix) : Nocturnal Groove
Nu;Tone delivers some seriously spectacular bass on this one while Rae lays down a trademark deep and soulful hook.
3. Osunlade – Dionne (Original Mix) : Yoruba Records
Soulful House music at it’s very best. Osunlade on fire!!
4. Ali Love – Another (Felix Da Housecat’s Chicago House 2 House Mix) : Crosstown Rebels
Love the vocal from Ali Love on this and the deep vibes on the production from the legendary FDHC.
5. Elements Of Life feat. Lisa Fischer & Cindy Mizelle – Into My Life (You Bought The Sunshine) (Dub Mutes) : Vega Records
Just can’t stop playing this record since we heard Joey Negro play it out up in Leeds. This is one of our favourite releases from EOL; the distorted organ and subtle hooky bass hook are the perfect platform for the truly amazing vocals.
6. Detroit Swindle – Unfinished Business (Crue Remix) : Freerange
Peak time deepness and an awesome bassline. This is how we roll!!
7. La Fleur – Nightflow (Kenny Larkin Drama Remix) : Watergate
Proper underground deepness on Watergate. Amazingly futuristic textures and a terrific groove. A very striking and original mix but still made with the dancefloor firmly in mind.
8. Lem Springsteen & Danism – Extension (Dub) : Nocturnal Groove
This release got some great support from X-Press 2, DJ Spen, Mousse T and CJ Mackintosh earlier this year. Lem takes care of the vocals while the 2013 nu-boogie vibes come from yours truly.
9. Fallout – The Morning After : 4th Floor
Going way back with this one to one of our all time favourites. It is not just nostalgia – this record from Lenny Dee and Tommy Musto is just too good. Has been on our setlist for well over 20 years!!
10. Black Magic – Freedom (Make It Funky) (Lil’ Louis Zohs Sub Dub) : Strictly Rhythm
Lil’ Louis’ dub on this classic Black Magic production is often overlooked but for us it is the best. The rawness of the kick, the programming on the hats, the warmth of the bass and the amazing arrangement make this mix standout. When delivered at the right time this can do some serious damage!!
